My first idea was ‘De Bank’ (The Bench).

In Amsterdam’s city centre lies the Vondelpark, a surprisingly huge area of green, and all kinds of people gather there—office workers on their lunch break, mothers with small children, fashionable joggers and drunken hobos. At the time I used to visit the park every day, sit on a random bench and stare at the world. It occurred to me that each bench would have quite some stories to tell and that was the inspiration for this strip.
